Zach leads the growth and client relations side of Downstream, working closely with businesses to understand their goals, identify opportunities, and turn ideas into practical solutions. Alongside his work with clients, he collaborates with the Downstream team on the development and implementation of AI solutions that help businesses streamline workflows, solve real challenges, and operate more efficiently.
After beginning his college career at DMACC, where he played golf while earning his associate degree, Zach transferred to the University of Iowa and earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. His passion for business, technology, and problem-solving led him to explore the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence and discover how it could be used to help businesses of all sizes operate more efficiently.
Zach works directly with clients to understand their goals, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that create meaningful results. Known for his entrepreneurial mindset and ability to turn ideas into action, he enjoys helping business owners navigate new challenges, embrace emerging technology, and build systems that support long-term growth.

Cael leads the bookkeeping and AI coaching side of Downstream, helping small businesses strengthen their financial systems while learning how to use AI more effectively in their day-to-day work. As a QuickBooks Certified Professional Advisor, he handles bookkeeping for Downstream Finance’s small business clients and brings both accounting knowledge and a practical understanding of how technology can improve the way businesses operate.
Cael played baseball for and studied at Iowa Central Community College, where his accounting work earned him the Triton Excellence Award. He then transferred to the University of Iowa. He is currently a senior studying accounting with a 4.1 GPA. His interest in both business and emerging technology has led him to explore how AI can be applied not just as a tool, but as a practical part of the way teams work.
Cael leads Downstream AI’s coaching practice, training teams to use AI in the work they already do. He has experience working directly with executives through one-on-one sprints and group trainings, helping them identify practical ways to incorporate AI into their businesses. He also serves as Co-Director of Innovation for Applied AI, the AI club at the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business, where he continues to help others explore the possibilities of AI.
